THE TRUTH IS MARCHING ON....

You all REALLY need to add The Grove to your bucket list....

Ole Miss is truly one of the greatest places on Earth. If you want a true college football experience, you have to attend a game.

To see the girls in the dresses and the guys dressed up, and the TENTS.....ohhhhhh, the tents!

This ain't no tailgatin' out of a pick-up truck! I mean we are talking wedding reception floral arrangements, and real crystal, and fine china. And catered food. And mimosas. I can just smell the grill......

It truly a FABULOUS place!

We don't always win the games, BUT WE HAVE NEVER LOST A PARTY!

THIS AND THAT....

I am not usually a big fan of Kohl's, but I love LC and her collection for Kohl's is great. And so reasonable. The first three rows are all her collection and all the sunglasses are all under $20.

I also love the leopard jacket. It is NOT $20! HA! It is from Piperlime.

The two cute t-shirts are from Old Navy and the fur vest...Love the Navy!

Have fun shopping!

Things I am LOVING.....

This is the best low fat ice cream I have had in a long time! I absolutely love caramel. And chocolate.

I am also LOVING this At-home-Brazilian-blowout kit! It makes your hair super smooth and shiny.

And I LOVE this Juicy Couture dollface bag. How cute is her face and hair?

AND this dress from Limited. Isn't it cute? You could pair this with a pair of jeweled tone pumps and a great metallic bag.

By far, this is one of my favorite things for fall. I am not a huge fan of Express usually, but this season is awesome. Lots of sequins, glitter, and sparkles. I absolutely love this statement necklace. It is a little pricey at $148.00, but it truly makes an outfit.

And I can't forget my sweet Paisley! How cute are these ballet flats from Baby Gap?!
Love them!

What are you loving?

I NEED A PRESENT...

I totally stole this ENTIRE idea from my sister! How often do you need a gift and are in a pinch? My sister has a closet in her laundry room that is devoted entirely to gifts.
Here some ideas:

1. If you have ever bought a gift bag at Target or Walgreens, you are going to pay around $5 each. And you will also pay that for greeting cards. INSANE! The Dollar Tree is a great place to stock up on boxes, gift bags, tissue paper, and cards. I try to buy lots of this stuff when I go and stock up. That way, I don't have to panic on the day of a birthday party. I am sure none of you ever do that. 30 minutes before a birthday and we have no gift. And I am stressing. And we are late. You know, the story of my life...

2. I also try to stock up on little "happies." Especially when I find a GREAT DEAL!
I love to buy Bath and Body works products (we have an outlet) and I always find great make-up bags, candles, etc.
The Dollar Store has great buys, also. Some things I will buy are frames, candles, etc.
Michaels has great dollar bins as well. Great journals, photo albums, etc.
I also LOVE to look on the food aisle at TJ MAxx. Lots of times, they have great cupcake mixes, preserves, etc. These are great to stock up on.
I LOVE Mississippi Cheese Straws. I love to give these as gifts, especially since they remind me of home.

3. The other idea I LOVE is when you find a really good, inexpensive birthday gift, to buy 5 or 6, and put them up for future parties. A few weeks ago, Target had Barbies on special for $4.00. What a great birthday present! We have a minimum of 1 birthday party per weekend, so I have to put a $10 limit on birthday presents. If not, birthdays start to be expensive!

What are your gift ideas? I would LOVE to hear!

PAISLEY LOU RETTON....

Paisley has started gymnastics. She is taking at Let It Shine in Franklin. I loved Gaby's, but Let It Shine offers tons of classes on weekdays and weekends, so we can make up if needed. I also love gymnastics because I use it as a reward ALL week (as in, I threaten Paisley if she doesn't act right that she won't go. It works wonderfully. HA!)
She LOVES wearing the leotards! She wants to sleep in them. It is quite hilarious how she parades around the house in her bodysuit.
I know these pics are not great, but they give you an idea. I will try and get some better ones in the weeks to come.

CRAZINESS

Every single week seems crazier than the one before! Maybe eventually I will catch up on sleep, laundry, paperwork, organizing! HA! I keep telling myself that, and it is still nuts. I know one day I will look back and miss this time. But right now, the only thing I miss is SLEEP!

Daycare is making me postal right now because I still can't grasp what I am paying. Like $1808.00 a month. Yes, that is in American dollars. I am still just amazed. And they are at our church. I am seriously contemplating a nanny and I have spent alot of time this week trying to research. Also, we are in the market for a 3rd car. Trying to decide between a Sienna, Honda Pilot, Highlander, Armada, or Pathfinder. I want NOTHING to do with a luxury car. Stephen's BMW has done me (we got a lemon.)

So that is what is happening at the Goody household! Hope you are all well!

Update me!!

I AM NOT DEAD...

Big changes are coming to our household. And NO I am NOT pregnant!! HA!
Will blog tonight....promise!!

BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP!

This is a great dish to take as an appetizer this fall! It is somewhat healthy and no one will even know!

You can also make this in the microwave if you are running short on time.

INGREDIENTS:

2 (10 ounce) cans chicken breasts
1 (8 ounce) packages fat free cream cheese, softened-
1/2 cup frank's redhot original cayenne pepper sauce
1/2 cup shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup fat free ranch dressing
1/4 cup fat-free Greek yogurt

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.2Place cream cheese in a medium bowl and stir until smooth.

Mix in Frank's RedHot, mozzarella cheese, ranch dressing, and yogurt.

Stir in chicken until thoroughly combined.

Spoon mixture evenly into a deep 8-inch by 8-inch baking dish.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, or until mixture is heated through.

Stir well and enjoy!

P.S. We love dipping carrot sticks and red bell pepper chunks into this dip, but we've also dunked baked tortilla chips into it and used it as a sandwich spread!

NIKKI THE ELF

I know it's like, 104 degrees outside and most of you are not even remotely thinking about Christmas, but I am crazy and live my life 3 months ahead because I am OCD and plan everything. And so I want to make sure you all know about Elf On A Shelf. This is the cutest book EVER and I wish I would have thought of this BRILLIANT idea.

For those of you that don't know what this is, this cute little elf comes to your house at the end of November/beginning of December. You can let your kids name him (Paisley picked Nikki) or you can name him yourself. The elf gives daily reports to Santa at the North Pole. It is a great way to bribe, um, I mean make your children think twice about being naughty around Christmastime.

The elves also do silly things, make messes, hide in funny places, and bring little happies or lumps of coal, depending on behavior.

Here are some great Elf ideas!

Elves Love to Do What Your Kids Love To Do!

Elves adapt quickly to a household, and many mornings are found busy with the favorite activities of the kids who live there. Reading favorite books, playing games (including the Wii or Nintendo DS), having a tea party with best-loved dolls, and riding skateboards are all favorite Elf past times.

Elves Are Into Computers and Social Media

Elves in homes with teens have been known to have email, Facebook and Twitter accounts to keep an online eye on the kids and send funny emails, status updates and tweets. Many elves also seem to surf the internet late at night, finding fun new sites for the kids to enjoy.

Elves Love to be in Pictures

Apparently, Elves are very good at self portraits. Many families have found their digital cameras full of pictures of their Elves in all kinds of crazy poses.

Elves Often Have A Driver's License

If an Elf cannot be found in the morning, the car is the first place to look. Elves are often found in the driver's seat, sitting on a stack of pillows or books. The car may be parked backwards or in a crazy position, and in some cases even down the street or in a neighbor's driveway. Typically, Christmas music is blaring through the speakers and the gas tank is mysteriously closer to empty than before.

Elves Write in Journals

Elves and children often learn more about each other and build bonds by writing letters back and forth. Some Elves arrive with a festively decorated journal to keep all the correspondence in one place. It has been rumored that some Elves only write backwards, so children must hold the note up to the mirror to read it. A few are conversant in Pig Latin or other codes that older kids must decipher.

Elves Tell Potty Jokes, Too

Bathroom humor spans all languages and species. Elves love to turn the toilet water green (with food coloring), decorate Christmas trees in underwear, toilet paper kids rooms or whole houses, and write on bathroom mirrors with mom's lipstick.

Elves Spell Their Names - Everywhere!

Each Elf has a name. Some are named by the children they watch. Others arrive with a note introducing the Elf. Either way, all Elves seem to love to leave their signature as often as possible. Maybe the Elf's name is written in Cheerios, flour, or chocolate syrup on the counter. Other times in toothpaste on the bathroom mirror. Best of all, in food coloring on freshly fallen snow.

Elves Love Things That Remind Them of Home

Cotton ball snowball fights are a favorite past time of elves. Also, Elves often make elf sized snow angels. If real snow is not available, then Insta-Snow or flour make good substitutes. A favorite game for Elves is Candy Lane. If the house does not already have a copy, Elves have been known to bring one from the North Pole as an early Christmas gift.

THE ART OF A THANK YOU NOTE!

This month in Southern Living, there is an article on the dying art of Thank You Notes. I don't know a single person who doesn't like to receive mail! I think this is one reason I E-bay so much. It is so fun to come home to packages! HA!

Anyway, my mama taught me at a VERY young age that you don't eat it, play with it, or open it until a thank you note has been written. I want to establish this same rule in my house. I refuse to let the internet replace good, old-fashion etiquette. I save many of my favorite thank you notes and cards, and have them taped to my vanity mirror and inside my jewelry box. I love to see them everyday.

SO here are some easy guidelines from this Southern Living article on easy steps in writing thank you notes.

1. Start with the date and salutation: Send your note, written in black ink, within a week of receiving a gift.

2. Say thanks right off the bat: Be specific about why you are writing the note. If you’re thanking someone for a monetary gift, refer to their “generosity” rather than mentioning the amount.

3. Compliment the kind gesture: Don’t be afraid to go over the top—everyone loves an effusive compliment, as long as it’s heartfelt.

4. Allude to the future: Anticipate another get-together, or if you’re writing about a gift, be sure to tell them how you plan to use it.

5. Finish with sincere regards: Reiterate your gratitude, then close the letter on an intimate note, signing your first and last name. Don’t forget to proofread before you postmark!
