EASTER WEEEKEND RECAP!

I don't know about y'all, but we had a busy weekend! Paisley was out of school last week for Spring Break and we had a great staycation right here in Nashville. We had a great time playing around town. Then on Friday, we went to an Easter themed birthday party for Paisley's sweet friend, Maillie. Maillie's party was held at her grandmother and pop's house (her grandmother's name is YaYa-I love that name) in Franklin. They have the coolest house with a huge yard and deck, and the weather was perfect.

Maillie's mama is my good friend Lacey and she is one of the most talented people I have ever known! She is a great decorator, artist, calligrapher, and I could go on and on and on! She can throw the cutest stuff together!

She also had a mouth full of peeps in this picture. They all ate enough candy to go into a diabetic coma. Hey, it's Easter weekend. I just went with it! Ha.

Barbie was also on hand and she was painting faces. The kids just loved this!

Griffin always likes to kiss the princesses. He's such a ladies man. They better leave him alone. I am his only girl! It was a great birthday party and thanks for letting us share your day, Maillie. We love you!

After the party on Friday night, Stephen and I cooked a pizza from Whole Foods that was delicious and watched Shark Tank. I love that show and sometimes I just love sitting on the couch with my husband and laughing and talking. He's usually asleep within 10 minutes, but I will take those 10. Ha.

On Saturday, a sweet family from our church hosted a huge Easter Egg Hunt at their house. It was absolutely perfect weather and the kids had a wonderful time. There were 38 kids and a total of 73 people! We all brought a covered appetizer 10 filled eggs per family and the Clay's provided drinks and paper goods. The older kids hid the eggs and they really liked getting to help.

On Saturday after the egg hunt, we went to Phillip's Toy Mart in Belle Meade to see the bunny rabbits. They bring in 50 rabbits and they have the cutest little trail and house for them. They are so cute.

After that, I ran home and dropped the kids and Stephen off and went to go get my nails done and before my nails, I ran into Starbucks and guess who held the door open for me? Keith. Urban. And his FINE self. I about died!!!

After I received oxygen (kidding), we went to Pie In The Sky for family pizza night.

Then the Easter Bunny came!!!
My kids got one piece of candy only. I would rather buy toys than sweets.

They were mesmerized!!

Paisley was so pumped over a $5.00 watch. Its the little things!

After church, we attempted pictures. What a disaster this was! See below:

TOY STORY BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Muffin Griffin who turned 2 this weekend!!!!

We celebrated with TOY STORY!!! His favorite!!!!

This weekend we celebrated Griffin's Birthday Toy Story Style. Griffin is OBSESSED with all things Toy Story. Especially the 2nd one.

Y'all know how much I love kids. And a theme. And a birthday. And a party. Combine all four= birthday, theme, kids, party, I. AM. IN. HEAVEN.

I started planning last year and I have had so much fun putting this together.

Here is the invite:

I made this super cute banner with the help of my Mama and the Cricut Expression. I used the Plantin' Schoolbook cartridge and the Toy Story Cartridge to make. The size of the scalloped squares were about 5.5 inches each. I found all the cute ribbon at Joanns and Michaels. Just look in the $1 bins. I splurged on the Toy Story Ribbon (download the Joanns app on your smart phone for coupons) and I bought a few yards of cow print for Paisley's dress and the tablecloth. I cut off a half yard of the fabric and cut into shreds for the banner. If you are interested in this banner for purchase, let me know!

How cute did the cake turn out? It was made by Donna Sadler who is located outside of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. You can find her on Facebook at Delicious Designs by Donna.

I showed Donna a picture of what I wanted and she nailed it! I HIGHLY recommend Donna. She is so nice and sweet and she is incredibly reasonable!

We held the party at Prairie Life Fitness in Franklin, Tennessee. We brought in our own blow ups (how sad is it that I own not ONE but TWO bounce houses, a popcorn machine, and a cotton candy maker?) After renting all of these things twice, I realized I could just buy it for less! ha!

Here is our sweet and precious Grace Hamilton making her debut at the party!! She was SO excited to be there! Grace is in the ongoing stages of leukemia. Y'all might remember me blogging about her. Keep praying friends!

The food table. The cricut is so useful! It helped me make so many things you see here!!

Mr. Potato Head was filled with chips. I loved the fact that he was a potato filled with chips. ha! I found him at a consignment sale earlier this year! Planning a themed party? PLAN AHEAD. SHOP EARLY. That way, when you find a great deal, you can stock up!

I also made these sucker Topiary Trees. They turned out so cute!!! I had a candy table for all the guests. Since the party was not at home. I just brought plastic containers for candy. I didn't want my good crystal broken. And the one glass bowl I brought was broken! I was so sad!

I also set up a photo booth for pictures and made some cute props from my Cricut, sticks, and tape!

I also made Buzz's Rocket Fuel (white popcorn, white chocolate, and M&Ms mixed), Marshmallow Pops, Pretzel Rods, and Sugar Cookies in the shape of a 2. All of these were hits! We also had Pizza Planet Pizza brought in as well!!
